Nowadays you cannot avoid hearing about superfoods because they are everywhere. I also wrote about them (mainly powders) in here. However, there are also more common superfoods available and in this post I will introduce you four of these common superfoods which you should include in your every day diet. I chose these superfoods because they are inexpensive and you can find them in your local grocery. Without further ado, let's get into it.
1) Kale
Kale is very nutrient dense, it has a lot of vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin K, Calcium, Copper, Magnesium and Potassium). Moreover, Kale is loaded with antioxidants. How to use it? I use kale in my salads and in my smoothies. I prefer kale more in smoothies because it can taste a bit bitter in salads. I find that kale really clears up my skin and pulls away toxins from my body. I love it!
2) Lemon
What can I say about lemon what you don't already know? Previously, I wrote about how I use lemon in my Detox juice and I also mentioned its benefits. It is recommended by many nutritionists to squeeze a bit of lemon into water in the morning. I sometimes do this myself but my teeth don't agree with this acidic drink regularly. If you don't have sensitive teeth, go for it! What a nice way to start your day by balancing your body's Ph-levels.
3) Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has many benefits, including helping with digestive issues, promoting great skin, spiking weight loss and it detoxifies your body. I started to use vinegar a few years ago when I read about its numerous health benefits. Nowadays I use it in my salad dressings. I can see the effect right away as it makes my bowls move 😁 You can also make a morning drink from apple cider vinegar: 1 tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar, 2 dl warm water and 1 teaspoon of honey. Drink this first thing in the morning. I have also made some apple cider vinegar foot baths which can speed up your metabolism. After having this foot bath, prepare to go to toilet.
Apple cider vinegar foot bath:
a bucket
1 dl apple cider vinegar
sea salt
hot water
Soak your feet about 10-15 minutes.

4) Garlic
Even the famous Greek physician Hippocrates used to prescribe garlic to treat many medical conditions. And he was not wrong. Garlic is incredible. I use garlic almost every day in my salads, in my butter and in my cooked foods. I even cured my yeast infection with my home-made garlic tea. It truly is a powerful thing. In the summer time when there are ticks around in our area, I put garlic in everything what we eat because there have been studies which indicate that by consuming garlic, it is more unlikely that you will get beaten by a tick.
