What is wellness and what does it mean to feel good in every area of life? I used to think that in order to be completely happy all things, such as finances, relationships, eating habits and training, should be in balance. If in one area something was off, I couldn't be happy. When you think of it there was always something or someone important in my life who was not doing good. As a result of this, I had to wonder that would it ever be OK in every area of my life? Were I just to settle into the idea that you cannot have everything in life? So it is obvious that I was a bit pessimistic about life.
Then life happened and I grew up as I had my son. Soon before I know it, we were moving to the other side of the world (Malaysia) and everything changed. By this I mean literally everything: my surroundings, the culture, the people I spent my time with, the food I ate, the clothes I wore etc. Consequently my thoughts were changing and I questioned the way I thought about the world. Instead of thinking pessimistically, how about if I tried to see how lucky I was? Here I was living this Expat-life and meeting new people and having new adventures every week. Around me I saw a lot of poverty and people being mistreated. So I felt I was living a privileged life. At those moments I realized that I didn't want to spend my life thinking that I will never have everything in balance in my life. Instead of seeing something that I could complain about, I would try to see the positive and what was good in my life. I cannot affect to other people's lives but I can affect mine. By changing my thoughts and attitude, my general well being increased tremendously. Nowadays I choose to feel good and be happy. If my first thoughts in the morning are positive "I believe that I will have a good day" I will end up having a great day! I encourage you to try to think this way at least for one week. It is as simple as that: change the way you think. We only have one life so why waste it for complaining? If you are unhappy, do something.
"You are what you attract."
"Today I abandon my old habits and take up new, more positive ones."
"Positive thoughts generate positive feelings and attract positive life experiences."

Another thing which has helped me to be more positive is to keep a gratitude journal. There are so many ways to do this. In the next post I will give you guidelines how to do it.
Hope you can be grateful today,
